Coffee Beans

Arabica coffee is a widely-liked variety that has been grown for thousands of years, dating back to ancient times. Its beans are typically oval-shaped, have a deep crease in the middle, and are bigger than Robusta beans. Known for their rich and complex flavors, these beans are favored by coffee enthusiasts for their sweet and smooth taste, with notes of fruit, flowers, chocolate, and nuts. However, they tend to be more acidic. Additionally, they are more expensive than Robusta beans as they are more delicate and require specific growing conditions such as altitude and weather. Arabica coffee is mostly grown at elevations between 500-2500 meters and contains less caffeine. The largest producer of Arabica coffee is Latin America, specifically Brazil.

Robusta coffee is mostly grown in Africa, Vietnam, and Indonesia. It has a lower acidity compared to Arabica, resulting in a stronger, less sweet taste. It can have a woody or rubbery flavor. It’s a popular choice for making espresso due to its rich flavor and creamy texture. Robusta is grown at altitudes no higher than 1000 meters and matures faster and yields more crop per tree than Arabica. It is also less susceptible to pests and weather conditions, making it generally less expensive than Arabica. It’s worth noting that Robusta has a higher caffeine content. The beans are typically smaller and more round than Arabica, and have a less pronounced center crease.
